1914 Star (17 Pte. H. Smith. 10/Hrs.) good very fine £80-£100

Herbert John Smith was born in London and attested there for the 10th (Prince of Wales Own Royal) Hussars. He served with them during the Great War on the Western Front from 6 October 1914 (also entitled to a clasp to his 1914 Star), and was killed in action the following month on 17 November 1914. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial, Belgium.
