Robert Shaw was born in Liverpool, where he attested into the Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. He served during the Great War with the 6th Battalion, landing at Cape Helles, Galipolli on 5 July 1915. He later served with the 1st Battalion on the Western Front, where he died of wounds received on the Somme, on 28 September 1916. He is buried in Derancourt Communal Cemetery Extension, France.
Walter Edward Brown was born in Giggleswick, Skipton, Yorkshire and attested into the York and Lancaster Regiment for service during the Great War. He served on the Western Front with the 9th Battalion from 28 August 1915. Appointed Sergeant, he was killed in action on 20 June 1916. He is buried in Albert Communal Cemetery, France.
