Charles I (1625-1649), Tower mint, Shilling, Gp C, mm. plume, plume over shield, 5.79g/3h (Sharp C2/5; SCBI Brooker 455 [same obv. die] / 467 [same rev. die]; N 2222; S 2788). A piece of fine work from carefully engraved dies with guide lines within both inner and outer beaded circles, well-centred on a round flan; tooled in front of face, lightly cleaned, some surface marks, otherwise very fine, rare £800-£1,000
