Sophie Charlotte Chown trained at the Royal Portsmouth Hospital and enrolled in Princess Christian’s Army Nursing Service Reserve (No. 76) on 9 July 1897. Sent to No. 7 General Hospital at Pretoria, she died on 23 March 1900.
