A fine quality example, black leather pattern skull with gilt metal leaf band around the base of the top, the walls of the trencher in quilted black cloth, with black leather top, the frontal plate with overlaid gilt mounts, Royal Arms, unit title and Battle Honours with silvered cypher ‘AR’ (Adelaide Regina), gilt metal boss with button, special pattern ribbed chin chain and lions head side ornaments, black horse hair plume with correct ribbed gilt holder, inner silk lining, minor service wear to leather skull, very good condition, scarce £1,500-£2,000
