Robert McLaughlin attested for the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers and served with the 6th Battalion during the Great War in the Gallipoli theatre of War from 11 July 1915. Proceeding to the Western Front, he was killed in action on 3 October 1918, and is buried in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gouy, France.
