Daniel Clifford attested for the Royal Irish Regiment and served with them during the Great War on the Western Front from 13 July 1915. Presumably discharged, he then re-enlisted in the Royal Dublin Fusiliers; consequently he has two Medal Index Cards, and his pair is erroneously named to the Royal Dublin Fusiliers. He was demobilised on 11 April 1919.

Charles Gunning attested for the Royal Dublin Fusiliers and served with them during the Great War on the Western Front from 6 March 1915. He was discharged on 10 June 1916, and was awarded a Silver War Badge.
