Three: Private W. E. Walsh, King’s Own Scottish Borderers, later Signal Section, Royal Engineers, who died at home on 15 November 1918

William Edward Walsh attested for the King’s Own Scottish Borderers, and served with them in both the Chitral Campaign of 1895, and then during the Boer War. He saw further service with them during the Great War on the Western Front from 10 February 1915, before transferring to the Royal Engineers, and was latterly posted to the Signal Section Training Centre at Bedford. He died at home on 15 November 1918, and is buried in Dewsbury Cemetery.
