Thaddeus Wells was born in Richmond, Surrey, and attested for the Rifle Brigade at Fulham. He transferred to the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers, and served with the 7th Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front. He was killed in action on 7 June 1917 and is buried in La Lairerie Military Cemetery, Belgium.
