Robert McKenzie was born in 1896 and attested for the Royal Irish Rifles. He served with them during the Great War in the Gallipoli theatre of War from 10 July 1915, and was evacuated on the H.M. Hospital Ship Assaye on 8 September 1915. He subsequently transferred to the Royal Irish Fusiliers.

Alfred Hyndman was born in 1890 and served with the 10th Battalion, Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers during the Great War. He was discharged on 12 June 1919.
