Albert William Bradfield attested for the Royal Artillery in 1940 and was appointed to a Regular Army Emergency Commission in 1942. He is later recorded in the London Gazette of 9 May 1946 as being awarded the Efficiency Decoration for service with the Royal Artillery, Territorial Army. Raised Captain, Bradfield served during the Malayan Emergency, but is noted in the London Gazette of 29 July 1955 as relinquishing his commission on 1 July 1955, retaining the Honorary rank of Major.
