Ernest Black is recorded as suffering from Malaria in July 1918 whilst serving with the Royal Field Artillery, attached Army Ordnance Corps.
Ernest George Ellis enlisted at Leytonstone, Essex, and served during the Great War on the Western Front with the 41st Divisional Ammunition Column, Royal Field Artillery. He died of disease on 4 March 1917 and is buried at Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery, Belgium.
