William King was born in Edinburgh and attested there for the Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders. He served with the 5th Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front, and was killed in action on 18 July 1918. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, France.
Sold with three unofficial Great War tribute medals, one in silver (in Recognition of War Work done at Messrs. Ransomes & Rapier Ltd.); and two in bronze.
