British and Irish Banknotes

Treasury Series, John Bradbury, £1 (3), 22 January 1917, serial numbers C/56 331821, 331822 and 331825, the notes are hand signed by Georges Clemenceau (Prime Minster of France), Douglas Haig (Commander in Chief of the British Armies in France) and David Beatty (acting Admiral, who was at Jutland and received the surrender of the German Fleet), the Haig note being dated 29 Oct 1918, less than two weeks before the signing of the Armistice, complete with letters supporting each of the three notes, various small rusty paperclip marks, some folds, overall original extremely fine examples, but a genuinely remarkable trio of signatures acquired at a moment which can truly be seen as a crossroads of history!
