According to a PMI test on the XRF analyzer, the gold is testing as purity 91.46%.
This was a popular posy - it can be seen on various other posy rings including examples in the British Museum (ref. 1961,1202.40, 1961,1202.42, AF.1298, AF.1299), the Griffin Collection (Inv. no. 05079), the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford (ref. AN1933.1593) and on the Portable Antiquities Scheme.
