According to a PMI test on the XRF analyzer, the gold is testing as purity 86.52%.


This was a popular posy - it can be seen on various other posy rings including examples in the British Museum (ref. 1961,1202.29, 1961.1202.32, and 1961,1202.37), Griffin Collection (Inv. nos. 01893 and 03034) and the Portable Antiquities Scheme.
