According to a PMI test on the XRF analyzer, the gold is testing as purity 87.98%



This was a popular posy and can be seen on other rings including examples in the British Museum (ref. 1961,1202,115, AF.1199 and AF.1203), the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford (ref: Cf. No 781 and AN1933.1576), the Museum of London (ref. 62.4/24), the Victoria and Albert Museum (ref. 377-1864 and 383-1864) and the Portable Antiquities Scheme.
