An early 18th century mourning ring, the D-shaped band inscribed to the exterior ‘L:ROGERS.OB:19.AUG:1725.AET:22’ to an octagonal-shaped bezel inset with an onyx intaglio, engraved with the initials ‘LR’ intertwined with a skull and crossbones below. with scroll decoration behind, between triangular-shaped shoulders with remains of silver solder, ring size approximately P - Q. £400-£600

This ring was found by a metal detectorist in Maidstone in Kent but not required to be declared as Treasure.

The ring has only light surface wear but there is no trace of any black enamel to the exterior,
