Kings of Mercia, Offa, Penny, Early Light coinage, Canterbury, Eoba, o-f-r-m in angles of cross pattée with chevron overlaid on each limb, the o lozenge shaped and the m uncial, rev. e-o-b-a in angles of cross with pelleted annulet terminals, cruciform of pellets at centre, 1.12g/9h (Chick 102e-f; MEC 8, 999-1000 var. [lozenge O]; N 260; S 904). Central crease and a few unobtrusive edge chips, otherwise about very fine and very rare, being struck during the ‘pre-Otford’ period £400-£500
