The 1914 Star awarded to Private E. E. Pond, Dorsetshire Regiment, who was killed in action on the Western Front on 26 September 1916

Edward Ernest Pond, from Branksome, Dorset, attested into the Dorsetshire Regiment and was advanced Corporal. He served on the Western Front with the 1st Battalion from 23 October 1914 before further service with the 5th Battalion. He was killed in action on the Somme on 26 September 1916; he has no known grave and is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, France.
