R.F.R.) the Great War trio mounted as worn, the last loose, verdigris to top of Star and traces of adhesive to base/bottom edge of medals, heavy contact marks, therefore fine (4) £80-£100

Archie Samuel Martin was born in Dawlish, Devon, on 12 January 1898 and joined the Royal Navy as a Boy Second Class in March 1914. He served during the Great War in the Cruiser H.M.S. Cumberland from November 1914 to June 1916, and then in the Monitor M31 from November 1916 until the cessation of hostilities. After spells at the Royal Naval College in both 1924 and 1926, he was shore discharged in December 1927, and joined the Royal Fleet Reserve in January 1928.
