George Woodage was born in the Parish of St George, London, in 1846, and attested for the Royal Artillery on 3 October 1867. Posted overseas to India and Malta, he was awarded his Long Service and Good Conduct Medal without gratuity in 1886, and was discharged at Dover in 1896 having reaching 50 years of age.
