Robert Teaz was born in Glasgow and attested there for the Highland Light Infantry. He served with the 9th (Glasgow Highland) Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front from 27 November 1915, and was killed in action on 27 June 1916, on which date ‘D’ Company carried out a raid on the enemy’s trenches at Mad Point, which resulted in the deaths of 70 of the enemy, with over 45 Germans being captured and taken Prisoner. He is buried in Cambrin Churchyard Extension, Somme, France.
