Matthew Alexander Armstrong attested for the Highland Light Infantry and served with the 16th Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front from 23 November 1915. He was awarded the Military Medal for his actions on the Sambre-Oise Canal in 1918, and was demobilised on 10 May 1919.
Sold with a postcard photograph of the recipient, and copied research, including Battalion War Diary extracts.
