Andrew John Cohoe was born in 1848 and served as as Sergeant in the 26th (Middlesex) Battalion, Canadian Militia. He emigrated with his family from Canada to Victoria, Australia, in 1889, and was appointed a Justice of the Peace for New South Wales in 1903. He was subsequently the proprietor of the Eclipse Windmill Co. Ltd., in Toowoomba, Queensland, and died in 1927.
