Institute of Civil Engineers, Telford Medal, 1828, a copper award medal by W. Wyon, bust of Telford left, rev. Menai Suspension Bridge, edge named (Frederick Pollock, Lieut Madras Engineers Grad. Inst. C.E., 1840), 58mm (BHM 1328; E 1206). About extremely fine, surfaces a little dirty £80-£100

Sir Frederick Montagu Pollock (1815-1874), son of Maj. Gen. Sir George Pollock and Frances Webb (née Barclay) Pollock. Born Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh), Educated at Eton and Jesus College Cambridge. Upon marriage took the surname Montagu-Pollock by Royal Licence.
Indian Army Lieutenant: Second Lieut., Madras Engineers, 1833; Second Lieut., Bengal Engineers, Lieut., 1840-44. In charge of Delhi canal, 1841-42; retired, 1844.
