James IV (1488-1513), Heavy coinage, Groat, Edinburgh, type IIb, mm. cross fleury, stars on four uppermost cusps, reads edinbrg, crown in first quarter, three pellets and annulet in second and third quarters and lis in fourth quarter, 2.88g/8h (cf. SCBI 35, 843; S 5333 [1984 edn, this coin). Obverse with a few hairline scratches on bust, otherwise about very fine, reverse better, toned, very rare £1,200-£1,500
