Alexander III (1249-1286), Second coinage, Sterling, class Ma/B mule, mm. cross pattée, bust left, rev. long cross, four mullets of six points in angles, distinctive looped r in rex and scotorvm, 1.36g/2h (SCBI 35, –; B xx, fig. 158; S 5053/5052). Of bright appearance, obverse about very fine but struck from a rusty die, reverse better £80-£100
