Robert II (1371-1390), Groats (2), both Phase 1a, Edinburgh, mm. cross pattée, normal ‘Robert II’ head, tressure of six arcs, trefoils in spandrels, star on sceptre-handle, line below bust, single crosslet stops, double after scottorvm, crescent and crosslet after dns, plain a both sides, 3.72g/3h; similar but no line below bust, double crosslet stops, nothing after scottorvm, 3.64g/5h (cf. SCBI 35, –, 457; cf. B –, 4, fig. –, 310; S 5131) [2]. Good fine or better, last an extremely rare variety £200-£240
