Alexander III (1249-1286), Second coinage, Sterling, class D1/M mule, mm. cross potent on obv., pattée on rev., bust left with hair swept back, rev. long cross, three mullets of six, one star of seven points in angles, 1.23g/6h; class D2, similar, 1.31g/11h (cf. SCBI 35, 259-62 for rev, 258; B 57, 28, figs. 164, 159; S 5057/5055, 5057) [2]. Good fine or better, surfaces a little rough £100-£120
