Robert III (1390-1406), Heavy coinage, First issue, Groat, Edinburgh, mm. cross potent, tressure of nine arcs, large trefoils on cusps, lis and crescent stops, triple-arc tressures at 9 and 10 o’clock, rev. three pellets in quarters of cross, lis and crescent stops after dns, villa and rgh, 2.62g/7h (cf. SCBI 35, 557; SCBI 72, 124, same dies; cf. B 13, fig. 355; S 5164A). Very fine, a very rare variety £200-£260
