Yilmaz Ahmet was born in Cyprus on 9 April 1935 and enlisted in the Royal Army Pay Corps on 10 April 1961. Posted to C.P.O. Aden in June 1963, he returned to England and served at the C.P.O. Reading, Colchester and Cambridge. He later qualified for the L.S. & G.C. Medal on List 116 of 1978; discharged a short while later, he died of cancer at the Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford on 22 September 1999, his profession noted as Accountant (retired).
