South Atlantic 1982, with rosette (T P Galloway RNSTS SAII MV Saxonia) in damaged named card box of issue, mounted for wear, good very fine £340-£400

M.V. Saxonia was a refrigerated cargo ship requisitioned by the Ministry of Defence under the S.T.U.F.T. (Ships Taken Up From Trade) program during Operation Corporate, serving as the Task Force’s main source of fresh food. Owned by the Cunard Line, she sailed from Plymouth in May 1982 directly to South Georgia, where her cargo was transferred to Royal Fleet Auxiliary ships.
