M.V. Saxonia was a refrigerated cargo ship requisitioned by the Ministry of Defence under the S.T.U.F.T. (Ships Taken Up From Trade) program during Operation Corporate, serving as the Task Force’s main source of fresh food. Owned by the Cunard Line, she sailed from Plymouth in May 1982 directly to South Georgia, where her cargo was transferred to Royal Fleet Auxiliary ships.
