A late 18th century enamel and hairwork double memorial ring, the circular glazed centre displaying two colours of plaited hair, within a black and white enamel border, between plain tapered shoulders, the reverse inscribed ‘Revd, James Benamor, Obt 2 Sept 1790, at 29; Joseph Benamor, Obt 28 Augt 1796, at 4 years’, mounted in gold, ring size S. £300-£400

This ring is illustrated in Rings 1800-1910, a study of English and related designs, by Verlaine Davies, pub. Write Designs, 2009, p.91.

In fine condition with minimal surface wear. Bezel diameter 19mm. Weight 5.3gm.
