A Sri Lankan sapphire and diamond ring, circa 1920, the cushion-shaped sapphire cabochon within a surround of single-cut diamonds, between similarly-set shoulders, mounted in platinum, (one diamond deficient), sapphire weight approximately 14.80 carats, ring size P - Q. £2,600-£3,200

Accompanied by a report from GCS stating that the sapphire is of Sri Lankan origin with no indication of heating. Report number 5786-2320, dated 1 May 2026.

Sapphire surface heavily scratched and abraded. Would require a professional re-polish. Very good transparency, some zoning / possible windowing - difficult to assess due to abraded surface. Fingerprint evident through reverse under 10x magnification. Slightly loose in setting, indistinct. Diamonds bright.
Shank resized and thinned.

Gross weight 7.3gm.
