A late 19th century Aesthetic movement silver topped cane, the finial worked with a rabbit amidst lily plants, engraved with the name of its owner, D M Probyn, the top of the bamboo stick similarly named, height 96cm.

General Sir Dighton Probyn VC, GCB, GCSI, GCVO, ISO, PC (1833 - 1924), a distinguished and much decorated soldier, awarded the VC at the battle of Agra (1875), a trusted courtier and private secretary to Edward VII, both as Prince of Wales and King.
