Place BidCharles I (1625-1649), Worcester mint, Shilling, mm. pear on rev. only, bust of rather crude style, uncrowned oval shield garnished with scrolls, 5.48g/12h (Allen D-14; cf. SCBI Brooker 1174 [this obverse die not represented]; N 2613; S 3109). Crudely struck on an irregular flan, good fine in parts, flat on face, some scuffing; this an extremely rare obverse die in an already difficult issue £600-£800
