An exceptionally rare 1547 Pattern Shilling
Edward VI (1547-1553), First period, Pattern Shilling, mdxl7 [1547], in silver, mm. rose on obv., arrow on rev., crowned bust right, timor domin fons vite and date, plain inner circle, rev. posvi dev adivtore mev, shield over cross fourchée, lozenge stops, 6.23g/4h (N 1954). Obverse partly double-struck and the portrait rather weak, fine, reverse very fine and with excellent detail, toned, exceptionally rare and almost certainly the only specimen available to commerce £8,000-£10,000
