Charles I (1625-1649), Briot’s First Milled issue, Shilling, no mm., signed b both sides, truncation breaks inner circle, rev. legend starts at 7h, 6.01g/6h (Sharp type 1; Holt/Hewlett/Lyall, BNJ 2014, A/1; SCBI Brooker 715a, same dies; N 2300; S 2854). Usual raised die flaws on upper reverse in mid-stage, extremely fine and deeply toned, extremely rare; very few specimens known £8,000-£10,000
