Hong Kong & Shanghai Banking Corporation, a beautiful obverse and reverse De La Rue composite essay for a proposed $100, Hong Kong, dated 31 December 1982, serial number 123456AB, no signatures, a completely unknown design, obverse red and green, junk at right, hand-painted views of the various HSBC headquarters buildings at left, reverse red and pink, entirely hand-painted scene of two dragon boats racing, and although this iteration was not adopted by De La Rue, the dragon boat racing scene did appear in a later design for the $50 of 1985-93, a superb essay of the highest standard, exquisite Thomas De La Rue artwork, as produced, and a highly important record, superb!
