International coins, medals, banknotes and jewellery specialist Dix Noonan Webb are pleased to confirm that they will be donating 5% of their Buyer’s Premium to NHS Charities Together, starting with their online/ live auction of Coins, Tokens and Historical Medals held today (Wednesday, April 8, 2020) and continuing with all their auctions through the duration of the Covid-19 crisis.
Pierce Noonan, CEO of Dix Noonan Webb confirmed: “With everything that is happening in the world at present, we felt it right to be giving something back to those working on the front line. We have decided to donate a percentage of our Buyer's Premium from every lot we sell during these challenging times to help those working hardest on our behalf, and in the most difficult conditions.”
He continues by saying: “We are very aware that it is a hard time for many auctioneers at the moment, but we would encourage other auction houses who are fortunate enough to be able to function in these challenging times to also consider whether there is anything that they might be able to do. Perhaps there might even be an opportunity for a coordinated and united approach from our industry.”
Today’s Auction started DNW’s fundraising campaign, with a total of £2,681 being donated to the charity from this first auction. The ongoing total can be seen on the homepage of DNW’s website.
DNW are not only continuing with all their planned schedule of Spring auctions but have increased their sales calendar over this period, adapting all sales to being on-line/ live only. Their next auction of Orders, Decorations, Medals and Militaria will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2020.
Due to the current COVID 19 situation, there will be no physical viewing of the auctions. Prospective bidders are encouraged to consult DNW’s website (www.dnw.co.uk) where all lots are illustrated and further condition reports can be requested if required. Customers are able to bid online (DNW make no additional charge for this service) or leave commission bids prior to the auction.
