PREVIEW: CARTIER’S TANK DESIGN REMAINS THE BRAND’S MOST ICONIC MODEL

Rolex, Vacheron Constantin and Breguet are just some of the leading brand names that will feature in Noonans’ Jewellery, Watches and Objects of Vertu auction on 14th June. Among the highlights is this circa 2000 Tank Americainé Cartier lady’s white gold and diamond-set rectangular wristwatch.

Named after the Renault FT-17 tank by Louis Cartier in 1917, the Cartier Tank is the brand’s most iconic model.

With a quartz movement and silvered dial, featuring Roman numerals and secret signature at VII, the 18ct white gold watch has a bezel set with brilliant-cut diamonds and a diamond-set winding crown, as well as an 18ct white gold deployant buckle.

It measures 34mm x 19mm and is signed on the case, dial, movement and buckle.

Complete with a Cartier pouch, the estimate is £3,000-£5,000.
