In the hearth tax returns of 1664 Richard Rogers was taxed on 4 hearths in Sithney, the parish boundary of which abuts Helston, as does the parish of Wendron, where he married Tamzyn Tresillian on 1 August 1665. A merchant, the inventory of his goods and chattels was valued at £1,050, 10 shillings and sixpence halfpenny
