Cnut (1016-1035), Penny, Quatrefoil type [BMC VIII; BEH E], struck at Hertford by Wulfric, draped and crowned bust left within deep quatrefoil, +cnvt rex anglorv around, rev. voided long cross, deep quatrefoil as inner circle, four pellets in first spandrel, +pferic on ret around, 0.98g/3h (BEH –; SCBI Poland 175, same dies; FEJ 361 var. [ornaments]; N 781; S 1157). Good very fine, rare £300-£400
