A Parcel from the Rauceby Hoard (PAS LIN-F6D516; BM 2017 T649)
The Rauceby Hoard was discovered by a detectorist near Ancaster, Lincolnshire in July 2017 and is currently the largest recorded hoard from this period found in Britain. The hoard was buried near the location of an old Roman road, c. 307 AD, when the Constantine I was rising to power and the Tetrarchy was in decline.

Constantius I as Caesar under Maximianus, Follis (AE1), Trier, 295, laureate head of Constantius Chlorus right, constantivs nob caes around, rev. Genius, wearing modius, chlamys draped over left shoulder, standing left, holding patera in right hand and cornucopia in left hand, genio popvli romani around, b tr in left field and exergue, 9.53g/5h (RIC VI Treveri 158a). Very fine, portrait better £30-£40
