Kings of Mercia, Burgred, Penny, Phase IIb [H8/A], struck by the moneyer Cenred, draped and diademed bust right, +bvrgred rex around, starting behind the king’s head, rev. mon / +cenred / eta, the upper and lower lines housed within closed lunettes, four small crescents framing legend, 1.28g/3h (MacKay Burgred, H8.6, this coin; N 423; S 941A). A few minute pin scratches beneath old cabinet tone, good very fine £700-£900
